I keep reading that writing articles is an excellent way to increase inbound links to your web site.

However, where are some good places to sumbit my articles that will give me quality backlinks?

No problem. You should post your articles here before you submit them and we can give you some feedback if you wish.

Also, if you create press releases about your site, company, etc you can submit them to places like prnewswire, etc

Ditto on what Mike said.

PRWEb.com is another online syndicated press that operates on a paid inclusion basis (not a huge amount - well worth it if article is done right - the articles get picked up from PRWeb.com in a number of places online). They offer a few different packages for different budgets.

Remember to SEO the heck out of it for best results (while remembering to make the content interesting and relevant to your targeted reader).

I notice that alot of the press releases I have submitted to places like PR.com, etc get reprinted on sites with an active url.

Anyone ever try to contact sites like these that are going against the PR site's TOS.

They are building their SEO (extra content) while trying to lower outbound links.

Hi TP,

Can you elaborate on what you mean by reprinted on sites w/ an active URL?

Thanks,
Liz

I think he meant without an active url. These sites list the story but remove the hyperlink so you get no SEO benefit from it.

Ah - I think you must be right. I've not encountered this myself in the online arena but I have in the offline one... I've written PR pieces for syndication in newspapers & magazines and when the clipping service sends the article snippets in there's always 1 every so often that doesn't cite the business name or contact info that is supposed to be in there for PR purposes... a pain in the butt - this is true. I would definitely recommend that you contact the PR service you're using if you come across a site who's picked up your piece and not provided your URL or contact info... at least online you can make alterations to what's been published after the fact. Not so much in the offline arena...

Cheers,

Many times they provide the Business name and URl but the url is not an active link, ie you get no increase in PageRank from Google but the poster gets added content.

Many companies want to increase Search Engine rankings by submitting articles.

Yes, Mike you are correct about what I wrote. The sites are suppose to include active urls but many do not.

I think when you google ARTICLE DIRECTORY you'll find various ARTICLE SITES, GermanGal. From there you need to sign up, activate your account and start submitting your article.

To save time you may also do some bulk submission wherein you can have various versions of your article with significant uniqueness.
