Got this from them today:

quote:
Commission Junction will no longer allow special programs engaged in the purchase of media from ad services that download and install software on an end-user's computer.

So does this mean ebates, upromise, mypoints etc will be booted from CJ?

Hard to say Wink May only be lip service. They even had one adware company in the past as one of the testimonials on their home page Smiler

This isn't the first time they have said they will do this and the adware companies are still allowed to be part of the network and steal others' commissions.

Doesn't MyPoints use adware? I know that is one of CJ's case studies.

I still see adware redirecting and stealing my CJ links. I often test with adware install on an extra computer to decide which merchants to avoid.

UKCrew,

Can you PM me and let me know how you are running your tests. I will like to use them to show merchants how adware steals links. Some do not believe it is possible.

I hear that adware companies freqeuntly change their names (ie 1800 solutions) and/or have sever business names within the the networks. This makes it difficult for merchants to know which companies are adware related.

I agree with Maxim. I have seen several applications from the same company for an AP I manage each with different contact information.
