Has anyone has any success with making commissions from affiliates on their 2nd tier. For me, it seems like I can get a lot of people to sign up but very few earn any commission.

I typically make most of my commissions from direct sales, however, there are rare times that sub-affiliates have done well for me. In April, I had a sub-affiliate earn over $4000 for me on an ad network. This was 10% of their earnings, which meant that they earned over $40,000 for the month.

This, however, is the exception, and not the rule. I have over a thousand sub-affiliates in a variety of programs and probably only about ten produce any sort of good commissions for me.

Wow, it would be nice to have some sub-affiliates like that. But from what you are saying it appears that less than 1% (10 of 1000) perform?

I don't depend on 2 tier commissions, but it is a welcomed surprise when one of them does well.

Do affiliate programs let you contact your sub-affiliates to help them market, etc?

Some provide you with the email addresses of your sub-affiliates but most do not.
