A friend of mine says that they use adware software and I should not promote merchants that have them as affiliates. Does anyone know if this is true?

According to the article at http://www.aluriasoftware.com/spyware-removal/details/Top%20Moxie/ they use TopMoxie which is adware.

How does adware "steal" affiliate commissions?

The applications many times overwrite the affiliate code with the adware's own affiliate code or prepopulates cookies on the user's computer.
